Middletown's Law Department represents and advises the City in all civil, criminal and administrative law matters; prosecutes criminal cases in the Middletown Municipal Court; and serves as legal advisor for all City matters. In addition, all contracts, bonds and other legal documents are prepared by the Law Department. All complaints, suits and controversies against the City are handled by the Law Department. When needed, outside legal counsel is retained to assist in specific areas.
Personnel is a division of the Law Department and handles job applications, pre-employment testing, City-wide employee training, Civil Service and employee benefits.
